Brenau University students awarded for excellence

Brenau University students were awarded for academic excellence and achievement during Honors Convocation on April 17.

The awards the students received are:

Caitlyn Merrillann Ludwig of Gainesville who was named the leadership award winner. Ludwig is a senior studying mass communications.

Kelsey Williamson of Flowery Branch, who was named the leadership award winner. Williamson is a junior studying mass communications.

Ana Marie Lopera of Flowery Branch, who was named the outstanding future teacher award winner. Lopera is a senior studying early childhood education.

Melanie Frances Fain of Cleveland, who was named the conflict resolution and legal studies award winner. Fain is a senior studying conflict resolution and legal studies.

Jessie Lee Matthews of Gainesville, who was named the senior award in studio art winner. Matthews is a senior studying studio art.

Vanessa Michelle Sanchez of Gainesville, who was named the senior award in fashion design winner. Sanchez is a senior studying fashion design.

Alessandra Maria Scarcia of Gainesville, who was named the outstanding senior theater student award winner. Scarcia is a senior studying acting.

Ariel Marie Simmons of Gainesville, who was named the outstanding senior theater student award winner. Simmons is a senior studying theater.

Madeleine Suzanne Sosebee of Gainesville, who was named the President’s Purchase award and the undergraduate student best of show award winner. Sosebee is a senior studying studio art.

Margaret Njanji Ashu of Gainesville, who was named the George and Ann Thomas Scholarship winner. Ashu is a senior studying nursing.

Deanna M. Briggs of Clermont, who was named the Carter H. Estes award winner. Briggs is a junior studying nursing.

Isabel Annaly Cuevas of Gainesville, who was named the Lisa Carnes Page award winner. Cuevas is a senior studying nursing.

Sharon K. Greene of Flowery Branch, who was named the George and Ann Thomas Scholarship winner. Greene is a graduate student studying nursing.

Kyunti Thema James-Thorpe of Gainesville, who was named the William and Augusta Schrage scholarship winner. James-Thorpe is a sophomore studying biology.

Aissatou Sarr Ndiaya of Gainesville, who was named the Katherine Brothers Endowed scholarship winner. Ndiaya is a sophomore studying biology.

Amber Ellen Price of Gainesville, who was named the undergraduate student academic excellence in psychology award winner. Price is a senior studying psychology.

Rachel Renfro of Gainesville, who was named the Jane & Rafe Banks scholarship winner. Renfro is a senior studying nursing.

Joey Megan Silva of Commerce, who was named the Robin Smith Dudley scholarship winner. Silva is a senior studying nursing.

Dianne M. Honan of Braselton, who was named the HGH Sally Ann Scott scholarship winner. Honan is a sophomore studying English.
