Now 5 years old, Downtown Drafts is getting a few upgrades.

The growler bar owned by the Hoecker family celebrated its fifth year in business in October. The owners are taking advantage of the post-holiday lull to add some new touches to the space at 115 Bradford St. SE. They’ve added a new bar in front of the tap wall and new bars with stool seating on one wall. The other wall now sports brick siding.

Downtown Drafts reopens Thursday, Jan. 16 — which also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the start of Prohibition in 1920 — after being closed most of the week for the renovations.
