Gary and Cindy Yates of Panama City Beach, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter Kylie Michelle Yates to Shawn Robert Johnson, son of Bob and Tina Johnson of Buford.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sibbie Anglin of Chamblee and the late Lamar Anglin, and the late Bob and Inez Yates.

She is a 2006 graduate of Dawson County High School in Dawsonville. She graduated in 2010 from North Georgia College and State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is employed as a Target Mobile support team manager at MarketSource Inc. in Alpharetta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Tom and Millie Thompson of Buford, and the late Robert and Claire Johnson.

He is a 2006 graduate of Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch. He is currently attending Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville for a degree in information technology. He is employed as a manager for Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford.

The couple plan to wed May 10, 2014, at Carillon Beach Meeting House in Panama City Beach, Fla.
