Debbie Smith of Lula announces the engagement of her daughter Misty Dawn Smith to Stephen Edward Jackson, son of Bruce and Teresa Jackson of Alto.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rudolph and Blanche Hubbard of Lula.

She is a 2004 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She is currently attending Brenau University in Gainesville pursuing a degree in early childhood education. She is employed with Jaemor Farm in Alto.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Billy Jackson of Alto and the late Lois Jackson.

He is a 2005 graduate of Athens Christian School in Athens. He is employed as a firefighter and emergency medical technician with Hall County.

The couple plans to wed Dec. 15, 2007, at The Grove Baptist Church in Maysville.
