Philip and Helen Martin of Evans and Jerry and Tracy Sims of Aiken, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Brandy Nicole Sims to Adam Samuel Pethel, son of Sammy and Sandra Pethel of Talmo.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Raymond and Amanda Beam and the late Luther and Dorothy Sims.

She is a 1998 graduate of Evans High School in Evans. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in international business. She is pursuing a master's degree at the University of Georgia in business administration. She is employed as a regional commission analyst with McKesson Corp. in Alpharetta. She is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Ralph and Irene Campbell and the late Lloyd and Maggie Pethel.

He is a 1998 graduate of Jefferson High School in Jefferson. He graduated in 2001 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in political science. He is employed as a pilot with AirTran Airways in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed March 14, 2009, at Talmo Baptist Church in Talmo.
