Andy and Cindy Price of Monroe announce the engagement of their daughter Lindsey Nicole Price to Alex Jonathan Hicks, son of Dennis and Shelby Hicks of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joyce and Tommy Price of Monroe, and Brenda and the late Zenous Freeman.

She is a 2003 graduate of Monroe Area High School in Monroe. She graduated in 2007 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in sociology. She is employed as a social worker at the Walton County Department of Family and Children Services in Monroe.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Virdell Smallwood of Gainesville and the late Sherman Smallwood, and Frances Hicks and the late Jack Hicks.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School. He graduated in 2009 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education. He is employed as a special education teacher by North Hall Middle School in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed April 2, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Winder.
