Jeffery Kenneth Phillips and the late Cindy Renee Phillips of Commerce announce the engagement of their daughter Samantha Monique Phillips to Clayton Lee Cox Jr., son of Clayton Lee Cox Sr. and Winter Lake Cox of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ken and Becky Phillips of Toccoa, and the late Dorothy Robinson.

She is a 2010 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Mount Airy. She will graduate in 2016 from Lanier Technical College with a bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Betty Cox Hill of Forsyth, the late Lawrence Starr Cox, and Frank and Laney Lake of Gainesville.

He is a 2011 graduate of North Georgia Christian School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2015 from University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is employed as a merchandise specialist by Best Buy in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 4, 2016, at Hancock Park in Dahlonega.
