Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scurry Pearson of Gastonia, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Jane Elizabeth Pearson to Mr. Charles Randall Frost, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Randall Frost of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Horton Barkley of Gastonia, the late Mr. Lex Goodman Barkley, and Mr. and Mrs. Plato Pearson Jr. of Gastonia.

She is a 2000 graduate of Gaston Christian High School in Gastonia. She graduated in 2004 from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She is employed as an event planner with Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walton Henson of Monroe, Mrs. Sidney Moring Frost of Baxley and the late Mr. Quentin Frost.

He is a 1995 graduate of Gainesville High School. He graduated in 1999 from Emory University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is employed as a PGA teaching professional with Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 28, 2010, at Figure Eight Island in Wilmington, N.C.
