Paula and Freddy Seagraves of Murrayville and Tommy Owen of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Brandi Nicole Owen to Markus Bradley McClain, son of Jeanie Fouts of Covington and Larry McClain of Gulf Shores, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Ann Owen of Franklin, N.C., and the late Paul and Betty Baker.

She is a 1998 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2002 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She received a master’s degree at Troy University in Troy, Ala., in post secondary education. She is employed as a third-grade teacher with Yargo Elementary School in Winder.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Beulah Cannon of Monette, Ark., Ruby McClain of Westpoint, Miss., the late Johnny McClain and the late Earl Read.

He is a 1988 graduate of Heritage High School in Conyers. He graduated in 1993 from Georgia College in Milledgeville with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He received a master’s degree at Troy University in Troy, Ala., in post secondary education. He is employed as an early intervention program teacher with Bethlehem Elementary School in Bethlehem.

The couple plans to wed March 30, 2008, at Tybee Island.
