John and Elizabeth “Michelle” Mercer of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Lyndsay D’Aubert Mercer to Nathan William Shope, son of Paula Shope of Gainesville and the late Phil Shope. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jim and Libby Valentine of Dahlonega, Elizabeth MacKenzie of Merritt Island, Fla., and the late Paul Mercer. She is a 2009 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville.
