Douglas Marc and Patricia Compo McDuff of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Kathleen Cameron McDuff to Timothy John Meehan, son of Margaret Helen Meehan of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain and Cyril Frederick Meehan of Morpeth, Northumberland, Great Britian.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louis Raoul and Elizabeth Compo of Pinehurst, N.C., and the late Laurence Heidelberg and Kathleen Polk McDuff.
She is a 2003 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2007 from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va., with a bachelor's degree in history. She is pursuing a master's degree from the Institute of Education at the University of London.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mary Frances Booth of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain, the late Ernest Edward Booth and the late Tomas Frederick and Cora Meehan.
He is a 1999 graduate of Trent College, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. He graduated in 2003 from King's College London in London, with a bachelor's degree in classics. He received a master's degree in classics at King's College London in 2004. He is employed as a marketing and delivery manager with St. Andrew Holborn Church Foundation in London.
The couple plan to wed Jan. 2, 2010, at Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville.
