Mr. and Mrs. Johnny McDaniel of Gordo, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Erica Kathleen McDaniel to Mr. David Huntington Abney, son of Mr. Larry Abney and Ms. Cheryl Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John G. McDaniel, and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bush.
She is a 2006 honor graduate of Gordo High School in Gordo, Ala. She is a 2010 cum laude graduate from the University of Alabama, and a 2014 graduate of South University, where she earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. She currently practices as a physician assistant in neurosurgery at The Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Abney.
He is a 2005 honor graduate from Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, Fla. He is a 2009 graduate from the University of North Florida, and a 2014 graduate of South University, where he earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. He currently practices as a physician assistant in the emergency department at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
The couple plan to wed Sept. 5, 2015, at The Oaks in Centreville, Ala.
