Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Larkin of Flowery Branch announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Krishnan Angelique Larkin to Mr. Christopher Lansing Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Miller of Spartanburg, S.C., and Mr. Darryl Brown of Travelers Rest, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Emmanuel Larkin Sr. of Milledgeville, the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Butts Larkin, Mrs. Macedonia Hardee of Brunswick and the late Rev. C.S. Hardee Sr.

She is a 2003 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2007 from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. She is pursuing a master's degree at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Geneva Nesbitt of Inman, S.C., the late Mr. George Knuckles, Mrs. Berniece Brown of Travelers Rest, S.C., and the late Mr. Fudge Brown.

He is a 2000 graduate of Dorman High School in Spartanburg, S.C. He graduated in 2004 from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed as a branch manager with Wells Fargo Financial in Spartanburg, S.C.

The couple plan to wed Jan. 2, 2010, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch.
