Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Jacobs III of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Lydia Ann Jacobs to Mr. Jacob William Gailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rick Gailey of Clermont.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sutton Alexander Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. John Wesley Jacobs Jr. of Gainesville and the late Mr. John Wesley Jacobs Jr.

She is a 2007 graduate of Lakeview Academy in Gainesville. She graduated in 2011 from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., with a bachelor of science degree in health and exercise science. She is currently planning to graduate in 2015 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a doctorate of physical therapy.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Clarence Hale of Gainesville, and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Emory Gailey of Clermont.

He is a 2006 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He attended North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega. He is vice president of The Chattahoochee Group Inc. in Clermont.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 25, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
