Jerry and Micki Irvin of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter BreAnna Leigh Irvin to Scott Michael Brown, son of Michael and Barbara Brown of South Bend, Ind., and the late Carol Brown.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jewell and Helen Irvin of Gillsville, the late Pauline Irvin and the late O.G. and Barbara Abernathy.

She is a 2000 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2005 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry and she received a bachelor’s degree at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in medical technology. She is employed as a medical technologist with Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Hector and Lois Brown and the late Bob and Anne Swaim.

He is a 1994 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee. He graduated in 2001 from Georgia State College in Atlanta with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. He received a degree from Lanier Technical College in Gainesville in medical technology. He is employed as a medical technologist with Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The couple plans to wed Jan. 26, 2008, at Redwine United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
