Wayne and Linda Harper of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Joy Elizabeth Harper to Frank William Reddy, son of Frank and Mary Reddy of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dorothy Harper of Gainesville, the late Charles Harper and the late Andrew and India Dunagan.

She is a 1998 graduate of Johnson High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2003 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She is employed as a senior account agent with William Mills Agency in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Ralph and Louise Reddy and the late Lavona and Robert Duncan.

He is a 2000 graduate of West Hall High School in Flowery Branch. He graduated in 2006 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He is employed as a staff writer with the Dawson Community News in Dawsonville.

The couple plan to wed May 7, 2011, at Herty Field in Athens.
