Ronny Edward and Joan Weatherby Gilliland of Buford announce the engagement of their daughter Kathryn Taylor Gilliland to Blake Anthony Duncan, son of Anthony Keith and Lee Ann Thornhill Duncan of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Myron and Latrelle Gilliland, Vernell Cochran Weatherby of Smyrna, and the late Maynard and Rachel Weatherby.

She is a 2009 graduate of Mill Creek High School in Hoschton. She graduated in 2013 from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed by Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Harold and Barbara Thornhill, and Royce and Charlotte Duncan of Sugar Hill.

He is a 2000 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. He graduated in 2008 from North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor of arts degree in English writing. He is employed by Wrigley in Flowery Branch.

The couple plan to wed Dec. 5, 2015, in Blue Ridge.
