Terry and Margie Gibbs of Commerce announce the engagement of their daughter Shana Kay Gibbs to Jeffrey Alan Sutton, son of Tim and Kay Sutton of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Karen Oliver of Lexington, Luther and Patricia Oliver of Cleveland, Eugen and Carolyn Eckstein of Maysville and the late Peggy Eckstein.

She is a 2004 graduate of Jackson County High School in Jefferson. She graduated in 2008 from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is pursuing a master's degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment through Walden University in Baltimore, Md. She is employed as a private pre-k teacher with Elite Academy in Braselton.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ralph and Patsy Sutton of Gainesville and the late Rando and Ruth Elrod.

He is a 2002 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. He is employed as a lineman with Jackson EMC in Oakwood.

The couple plan to wed April 2, 2011, in Watkinsville.
