Jerry and Karen Dockery of Cumming announce the engagement of their daughter Amber Michelle Dockery to Christopher Allen Davidson, son of Stan Jr. and Kim Davidson of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dean and Sandra Dockery of Andrews, N.C., Charles Sells of High Point, N.C., and the late Evelyn Sells.

She is a 2004 graduate of Forsyth Central High School in Cumming. She graduated in 2008 from Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Jack and Leah Holland of Oakwood, Stan Sr. and Judy Davidson of Gainesville and Faye Whitmire of Gainesville.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2008 from Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland with a bachelor's degree in humanities. He is employed as a director of student activities at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 7, 2009, at Crabapple First Baptist Church in Milton.
