Dale Chambers of Murrayville announces the engagement of her daughter Nakia Kim Cruz to Charles Gregory Tompkins, son of Martha Tompkins of Dahlonega and Don Tompkins of Jefferson. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late H. Larry Loggins.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lewis Lee of Murrayville and the late Geraldine Lee, and the late Kelsey and Nellie Mae Loggins.

She is a 1993 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She is attending Columbus State University in Columbus. She is employed with the Georgia Department of Corrections in Dahlonega. She is a member of the Lumpkin County Hospital Authority Committee.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Marjorie and Charles "Bud" Moore and the late Joan and James Tompkins.

He is a 1989 graduate of Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega. He graduated in 1995 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is employed with the Georgia Department of Corrections in Dahlonega.

The couple plans an open-church wedding for 2 p.m. on April 5, 2008, at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Dahlonega.
