Larry and Teresa Cross of Buford announce the engagement of their daughter Lara Shea Cross to Blake Matthew Wayne, son of Mike and LeAnne Wayne of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Merle McNeal of Buford, Sue Eley of Flowery Branch, and Dean and Linda Cross of Buford.

She is a 2002 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2006 from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur with a degree in funeral service. She is employed as a funeral director with Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Hugh and Marilyn Davis and Bob and Martha Wayne.

He is a 1997 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. He is employed by Aqualand Marina in Flowery Branch.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 10, 2009, at Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford.
