Florence Longyhore of Flowery Branch and John and Beth Caruso of Buford announce the engagement of their daughter Cindy Lynn Caruso to Dustin Wade Smith, son of Randy and Sheila Smith of Ball Ground.

She is a 2005 graduate of Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch. She graduated in 2008 from American Intercontinental University in Dunwoody with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She is employed as a deputy clerk I with the Hall County Clerk of Courts Office in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of A.G. Foster Jr. of Nebo, N.C., and Myrna Smith of Ball Ground.

He is a 1998 graduate of Southwest Onslow High School in Jacksonville, N.C. He is pursuing a degree in visual communications from American Intercontinental University in Dunwoody. He is employed as a senior photographer with The Picture People in Buford.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 22, 2010, at The Vines Mansion in Loganville.
