Randy and Tammy Buffington of Lula announce the engagement of their daughter Heather Nicole Buffington to Kevin Douglas York, son of Chris and Sharon York of Demorest.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carlton and Libby Buffington of Gillsville and the late Harry and Floy Williams.

She is a 2005 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2009 from Gainesville State College in Oakwood with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of James and Dorothy York of Demorest and Alfred and Althalene Waters of Clayton.

He is a 1993 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Mount Airy. He graduated in 2002 from Piedmont College in Demorest with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

The couple plan to wed Feb. 6, 2010, at Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Gainesville.
