Mr. and Mrs. William Franklin Arnold Jr. of Blakely announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Melinda Inez Arnold to Mr. Todd Christopher Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter David Miller of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Charles Barnett of West Chester, Pa., Mrs. William Franklin Arnold Sr. of Blakely and the late Mr. Franklin Arnold Sr.

She is a 1998 graduate of Early County High School in Blakely. She graduated in 2003 from Valdosta State University in Valdosta with a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology. She is employed by Hope Haven in Athens.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Wayne McKenny Cox and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Frances Miller.

He is a 1996 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2002 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in environmental health science and environmental soil science. He is employed by Landtec Southeast Inc., in Watkinsville.

The couple plan to wed April 18, 2009, at Young Harris Methodist Church in Athens.
