Finding a new home can be quite the production, as locals Hayden and Graham Simmons discovered earlier this year.

Of course, it didn’t help that they also appeared on HGTV’s “House Hunters” while they were at it — and Gainesville residents can tune in on Friday to watch how it all went down.

The Simmons family was in the news in late September, when the couple opened their restaurant Foothills Barbecue at the site of the former Big Bear Cafe. They could not be reached by The Times to discuss the “House Hunters” episode.

“A barbecue chef wants a house in Gainesville, Georgia, with plenty of land and lots of projects to keep him busy,” reads the HGTV summary of the episode. “But things get cooking when his wife insists on a house in the heart of downtown."

The episode, named “Country Boy vs. City Girl,” airs at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, on HGTV.
