Dr. J Fred and Neva Pounds of Statesboro, formerly of Gainesville, celebrated their 62nd anniversary on Dec. 17, 2007.

The couple were school sweethearts in the sixth-grade. To celebrate their anniversary the couple went on a Caribbean cruise.

The couple have two children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
