Nelson and Jerry Carter of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 7, 2013. A dinner was held in their honor to celebrate the occasion. The couple have three children, Jed (Lori) Carter, Charley Carter, and Will (Deanna) Carter and six grandchildren.
