Although dragon boating originated in China centuries ago, the food choices at the ICF Dragon Boat World Championships will come from around the world.

Dannella Burnett, owner of Oakwood Occasions and vendor coordinator for the championships set for Sept. 12-16 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, said there will be “a little bit of everything” with something for everyone.

“We will have different food trucks and vendors every day, with 6-10 at a time,” Burnett said. “In addition to the trucks and vendors that will have food for lunch and dinner, we will have some trucks with breakfast foods, smoothies and coffee. Shaved ice and other frozen treats will also be available every day.”

Along with typical American foods like burgers and barbecue, attendees can sample flavors from Jamaica, Hungary and Brazil. Vegan options also will be available.

“Many of the food trucks that will be on-site for the Dragon Boat Championships also participate in the Food Truck Friday events that Lake Lanier Olympic Park holds regularly.”

Food trucks will be on site 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
