Lula Bridge race set for Saturday
The Lula Bridge Race, an event put on by the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Lanier Olympic venue on Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville.

Registration is under way for the Richardson Racing League, a six-week session in whiche youth participants learn canoe and kayak skills.
The program runs from March 30 through May 16, and teams meet at the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club twice a week for training sessions. Participants will be able to try different equipment, practice their skills and play games. In addition, there will be two competitions where kids can show off their new skills.
The first regatta is the Richardson Racing League Fun Race on May 2, and the second is the Richardson Racing League Fungatta on May 16.
The Fungatta, the culmination of the program, includes awards for individuals and a team.
No experience is necessary, and the program is open to kids ages 10 to 15. The program fee is $95. For more information call 770-287-7888.
