Just because the leaves are no longer green doesn't mean you can't be.

Cedar Hill Enrichment Center and Tractor Supply in Dawsonville have collaborated to present the Fresh Green Market and Festival from 4-7 p.m. today at Tractor Supply.

In an effort to expand ways to serve the community, Cedar Hill and Tractor Supply's inaugural event marks the beginning of a weekly farmers market to be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays in the spring of 2011.

The Fresh Green Market and Festival will feature fresh in-season produce and products from local farmers and artisans committed to growing and creating products using sustainable methods.

In addition to the Fresh Green Market, Reaping Nature Productions and Premier Surplus will offer electronics recycling for a $5 donation.

Premier Surplus recycles all items domestically and provides hard-drive shredding services at their Cumming facility. No items are shipped overseas and it has a zero landfill policy.

Donations from this service will support Reaping Nature's environmental education programs for children.

Items accepted include computers, circuit boards, power supplies, vacuum cleaners, keyboards, PC monitors, laptops, printers, copiers, fax machines, typewriters, modems, phones, cell phones, scanners, wire/cable, network equipment, stereos, VCR's, microwaves and small electronics.

Items not accepted are refrigerators, freezers, household trash, tires and console/projection TVs.

The market will provide an opportunity for the community to gather, learn, sample and shop.

Those interested in a vendor booth may contact Cedar Hill Enrichment Center at 770-887-0051 for an application.
