Watercolorist Don Andrews to demonstrate his skills March 19 at exhibition in Dawsonville

March arrives like a lion at The Bowen Center for the Arts with the 37th National Exhibition of the Georgia Watercolor Society.

More than 80 entrants from across the United States were accepted into the art show, including 27 Georgians. And juding those entries will be Don Andrews, a watercolorist extraordinaire.

Andrews will provide a free demonstration of watercolor technique from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19, at the center. Seating is limited.

Immediately following the demonstation will be the Artists Awards Reception from noon to 1 p.m. More than $10,000 in awards and merchandise will be presented.

The exhibit officially opens Tuesday, March 15, and closes April 30.

The Bowen is located at 334 Ga. 9 N, in Dawsonville next door to Lanier Technical College. Its hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4  p.m. Saturday.
