The Historic Holly Theater, in partnership with the Department of Visual Arts at North Georgia College & State University, will present a set design workshop with Seattle artist Jessica Dodge. The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and conclude at 1 p.m.

Dodge apprenticed under the master painter at Seattle Children’s Theatre from 1992 through 1994. She has designed and painted sets for numerous theaters in Seattle, including Annex Theatre, Theater Schmeater, Empty Space, Printer’s Devil, Intiman, Book-it, A Contemporary Theatre and OAT Co., as well as Honolulu Theatre for Youth in Hawaii and Annex Theater at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Ireland.

She was the Scenic Charge on the U.S. location for the Lars Von Trier movie "Dancer in the Dark."

The workshop is one of a number of events happening at NGCSU throughout Dodge’s February artist residency.

An exhibition of her paintings, prints, and photographs will be on display in the Hansford Hall Gallery through March 1, with a reception from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

Dodge will also hold a printmaking workshop from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Monday and a reverse painting on glass workshop from 12:45-2 p.m. Tuesday in the Department of Visual Arts.

All events are free and open to the public. For information on the set design workshop, call 706-864-3759; on other events, call 706-867-2832.
