Blues singer Lauren Mitchell feels at home performing before crowds inside historic honky tonks and at outdoors festivals. But it wasn’t always that way.
“I’d been a member of the chorus for productions, but performing in my grandparents’ church was the first time I stood on my own and opened my mouth to sing for an audience,” she said. “It wasn’t too scary. And all those people knew me and loved me and wanted me to succeed.”
And succeed she has. Performing about 250 dates per year, nationally and internationally, Lauren Mitchell will bring her band to perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at The Crimson Moon, 24 N. Park St., Dahlonega.
She has put together a blues group led by Hammond B3 aficionado, “The Professor” Michael Hensley.
“I met Michael Hensley in 2005 and we launched The Lauren Mitchell Band in 2011,” Mitchell said. “We haven’t looked back since then!”
Tickets are $12 in advance; $14 after 5 p.m. or at the door on the Nov. 13. Tickets can be purchased in advance via www.TheCrimsonMoon.com.
