Based on children storyteller Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of an outcast foul, “My Life as a Fairy Tale: The Ugly Duckling” will jump off the pages of a book and onto the stage for the amusement of small children. Open Eye Figure Theatre of Minneapolis, Minn., is presenting the famous tale “The Ugly Duckling” with a few new twists and turns. Using only a collection of found objects and odd furniture, this imaginative performance gives life to the inanimate as the Ugly Duckling makes his journey to finding a home.
