Clermont officials have found a way to wrap up a 5K race, parade and concert into one neat package: Clermont Days.

The annual event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday around the Clermont gym, 640 Main St.

"This is our 10th year," said John Brady, event chairman and city councilman. "It's a good time to socialize."

Clermont Days will get a soft start at 1 p.m. Friday with live music provided by a disc jockey and a few wares offered by early-arriving vendors. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, D-Earl and B-Stock will take to the stage for a concert.

The Cupcake Challenge will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. It includes a 1-kilometer fun run and a 5K race. Registration for the challenge will begin at 7 a.m. the morning of the event.

The Clermont Days parade will begin at 1 p.m.

The main festivities on Saturday will include a market of vendors, car show and a fireworks display.

Musical acts and other performers will be providing entertainment throughout the day.

There will also be kids activities and a horseshoe-throwing contest.
