Animal rescue organization Frankie and Andy’s Place is holding an inaugural golf tournament to raise money for senior dogs in Buford.

“We had originally hoped for 12 teams as this is our first golf tournament, but already we are delighted to have 18 teams taking part,” Peter Miller said.

The tournament will be April 21 at Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course, 7000 Lanier Islands Parkway, in Buford. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The four-person scramble is $400 and includes lunch. Participants can win a Honda CR-V LX from Milton Martin Honda and Sen. Butch Miller with a hole-in-one on the 10th hole.

Located in a beautiful log cabin, nestled in a picturesque Barrow County woodland setting, Frankie and Andy’s Place is home to a small number of gentle, loving senior dogs who have been cast aside by their humans, yet still have many valuable gifts to share. The group pairs dogs in their twilight years with senior centers, adult day centers and children with autism for calming therapy that also benefits the dogs.
