Most folks in these parts are familiar with Chief Whitepath’s cabin exhibit at the Northeast Georgia History Center, but this week, visitors will be able to submerse themselves even more in Native American culture. From 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aiu. 19, the center, at 322 Academy St. NE in Gainesville, will host a special Family Day focused on the Cherokee of Northeast Georgia.
