More than 400 “I Dos” are exchanged each year in Dahlonega-Lumpkin County and each are as varied and diverse as the brides, grooms and the weddings themselves.

That’s because Dahlonega-Lumpkin County has multiple venues with waterfalls, mountains and vineyards as a backdrop for weddings. And several businesses offer services to support the events.

With that knowledge, the Dahlonega and Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with local businesses to host a wedding expo to help brides and grooms plan their wedding. The “I Do in Dahlonega” Wedding Expo will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, in the University of North Georgia banquet halls A&B on the Dahlonega campus. It will feature more than 30 local vendors, including photographers, florists, hair and make-up artists, caterers and entertainment.

Then from 3:15-6 p.m., brides-to-be and their attendees will board buses to visit multiple venues. The attendees will have the opportunity to choose the route prior to the event. Each route will feature an assortment of venue types such as wineries, barns, resorts, chapels, chapel in the woods or even a couple of venues in historic downtown Dahlonega.

Admission will be $10 and includes transportation.
