Thirteen Capitol City Opera singers are rehearing to perform the most well-known Broadway compositions for this year’s On the Light Side fundraiser.
Scheduled for Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, this year’s event features all the songs you know and love written by the legendary American songwriting duo, George and Ira Gershwin. Doors for the event will open at 6:30 p.m. for a silent auction and a self-catered indoor picnic. The program will begin at 8 p.m. at the Church of the Atonement, 4945 High Point Road, in Sandy Springs.
On the Light Side will feature 13 singers performing music is synonymous with the Jazz Age from the roaring 1920s and swinging ’30s. Selections will include songs from Porgy and Bess, Funny Face, Crazy for You and Nice Work If You Can Get It, among others.
Tickets are $35 per person. Tables are $300 for a maximum of 10 people. All reservations will be held at Will Call.
