Brazilian tubist to perform with UNG professor March 6 during 'Brazil in Brass' concert

Brazilian tubist Albert Khattar will perform at the concert “Brazil in Brass” with University of North Georgia’s professor Adam Frey, and pianist Vivian Doublestein.

Brazilian tubist Albert Khattar will be the special guest performer during the latest A Little Night(hawk) Music concert series.

The free “Brazil in Brass” concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, in the Ed Cabell Theatre Lobby of the University of North Georgia Gainesville campus and 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the Gloria Shott Performance Hall on the UNG Dahlonega campus.

Khattar will play the tuba and be joined by the newest University of North Georgia faculty member Adam Frey on the euphonium and collaborative pianist Vivian Doublestein. The trio will play music by Astor Piazzolla, Morais, Mignone and Pitombeira.

Khattar is a professor of tuba at the Federal University of Rio de Janiero and former principal tuba in the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra.
