Fall Into Spring at garden symposium Saturday

This Saturday, the Hall County Master Gardeners present its annual gardening symposium, with tips on landscape design, native plants and other useful information.

With the theme "Fall Into Spring," the annual event is open to anyone in the community interested in learning more about gardening. The daylong event is put together by the Master Gardeners and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Topics for this year's event are "Southern Conifers for the Shade," "Landscaping with Native Plants," "Remodeling Older Landscapes for the Baby Boomer of Today" and "A Passion for Native Ferns." There also will be vendor booths selling trees, shrubs and perennials for fall planting.

The event costs $35 per person, and you may register in person at the Hall County Cooperative Extension office, 734 East Crescent Drive, Gainesville. The symposium will take place 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center on Calvary Church Road, Gainesville.
