Wait, don't put that Halloween costume away just yet.

You can put it to good use this weekend — or, simply don your favorite red-carpet appropriate dress or tuxedo — and head over to the Quinlan Visual Arts Center's Red Carpet Costume Ball on Friday.

The event, a fundraiser for the nonprofit arts center in Gainesville, will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight at Grove Street Station, 610 Grove St., Gainesville. There will be live music from The Blast, a seven-piece band from Atlanta, and catering from Scott's on the Square.

Attendees are encouraged to dress like their favorite movie star or film character.

Tickets are $50 each, but an upgrade to a $100 ticket gets you a paparazzi photo shoot and special VIP treatment — just like the movie star you're portraying.
