Oso, Wash., is a quiet farm community of about 180 people, located 60 miles northeast of Seattle. Pretty green valleys alternate with mountain slopes that are covered with pine, fir and cedar trees. Oso made the national news last year when a landslide crashed into several homes on May 22, 2014, taking 43 lives and covering more than 600 acres with rocky mud.
