Gwinnett Braves starter Erik Cordier got chased early, and the Durham Bulls won 7-4 on Sunday in Durham to pull even with the G-Braves for the lead in the International League South.
Cordier (2-5) lasted less than three innings, yielding eight hits and six runs.
The G-Braves offense was led by Mauro Gomez, who finished 2 for 4 with a solo home run, his 14th of the season. Brandon Hicks was also 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Cristhian Martinez (0-0) will get the start for Gwinnett in Monday’s game, set for 7:05 p.m.
