Gwinnett Braves designated hitter Barbaro Canizares has been named the International League’s Batter of the Week for the period between Aug. 9-15.

This is the second time Canizares has been named the IL Batter of the Week, and the fourth such award for the Gwinnett Braves this season.

Over the past seven days, Canizares has led the International League with a .458 batting average and a .581 on-base percentage. Canizares was also tied for third for the week with two home runs and was fourth with a slugging percentage of .750.
