Gwinnett Braves first baseman/designated hitter Barbaro Canizares and pitcher Michael Dunn have been selected to play in the 2010 International League All-Star game, as announced by the International League on Wednesday.
The game will be July 14 at Coca-Cola Field in Allentown, Pa., which is home to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, and will be broadcast live on the MLB Network.
This is the third year in a row that Canizares has been named to the IL roster. This season, he has posted an 11-game hitting streak and through the month of June leads Gwinnett with a batting average of .314.
Dunn will be making his first appearance in the Triple-A All-Star Game. This is his second All-Star selection, as he was selected to participate in the Double-A Eastern League All-Star Game in 2009.
Dunn didn’t allow a run between April 19 and May 20 and has the longest Gwinnett scoreless streak, not allowing a run for 17.2 consecutive innings. With 51 strikeouts through 37.1 innings pitched so far this season, Dunn has the highest strikeouts per nine innings pitched ratio among IL relievers (12.29).
