Gainesville's Ralston advances to U.S. Junior Amateur match play

WOODLANDS, Texas — Gainesville’s Spencer Ralston has qualified for the round of 64 match play in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at The Club at Carlton Woods (Nicklaus Course). Ralston had a first-round 74 Monday and another 74 on Tuesday for a 4-over 148 total that put him among 10 players tied for 50th at the venue just outside of Houston. Match play begins Wednesday with Ralston facing Curtis Luck of Australia, with winners advancing to Thursday’s round of 32.
