Andrea del Valle and Alyson Ferwerda, Lynn Moore and Cynthia Cox, Wendy Knight and Amy Placek, Cadie Cooper and Holly Kivbo, Laura Russo and Gina McGill, Michael Richards and Grant Patrick, Jay Cooper and Jimbo Floyd, Mario Matute and Tom Zimmerman, and Ron Coleman and Mark Scherer were all tournament champions in this year’s Sterling on the Lake member-guest tournament last weekend.

The tournament drew more than 150 tennis players and spectators at the event at the residential community in Flowery Branch.

Teams were divided into nine brackets with every level of tennis represented ranging from beginners to seasoned pros.

Through sponsorships, entry fees and a silent auction, the three-day tournament raised more than $7,500 for Hemophilia of Georgia, a local organization that exists for people in the state affected by bleeding disorders.

Scott Squillace, Chairman of Sterling on the Lake’s tennis committee, was very pleased with the tournament outcome.

“This year’s tournament was a huge success and as a Sterling resident and tennis player, I am happy that we can hold this tournament with the help of local companies every year to raise money for Hemophilia of Georgia,” Squillace said.
