Brenau moves to 9-2 with win

The Brenau University basketball team continued its hot start to the 2008 season with a 92-30 win against Spelman on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Ashley Hagans, the nation’s leading scorer among NAIA teams, led the Tigers (9-2) with 29 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Lori Pope scored 12 points and Paige Cooper and Sarah Ledford each added 10 points.

Brenau visits Berry at 2 p.m. Jan. 3.

Hall County Sports Television to feature Dome-bound Falcons 

The Flowery Branch football team is featured this week on Hall County Sports Television. Falcons coach Lee Shaw will appear on the show to discuss his team’s Class AAA state championship game against Cairo on Saturday.

Lanierland will also featured this week with appearances from North Hall coaches Bryan Richerson and Benjie Wood, Seth Vining of Lakeview Academy and Joey Rider of East Hall.

Also featured this week on HCS-TV are recaps from recent area wrestling meets. Coaches Errol Bisso of Riverside Military and Carey Whitlow of Chestatee and Shane Lancaster of Flowery Branch will be hand to discuss recent tourneys.

HCS-TV airs at 9 tonight on Charter channel 23.
