Local runners shine at USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship

Local runners from the Lanier Running Club made up two teams during the USA Track and Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships on Dec. 9 in Tallahassee, Fla., posting solid finishes in the end.

In a championship comprised of 21 teams and 309 elite runners from across the country, Lanier Running Team A — Devon Crow, David DeChamplain, Andrew Jones, Edwin Amaya, Collin Kilgore, Ben McGinnis, Christopher Shelp — placed third overall. Crow was the top runner for Lanier, crossing the finish line with a time of 16 minutes, 22.6 seconds. Meanwhile, Lanier Running Team B — Carter Robinson, Lance Robinson, Samuel DeChamplain, Jackson Lazenby and Jose Amezcua — placed 18th overall.
